Man, I used to work in Iowa, they’re still saying coloreds and chinamen there in 2022.

Articles on Kotaku this week:  Pay to play games are too expensive! Free to play games aren’t free enough!

I mean you were the one saying you wanted people to be like you.  Don’t get mad when someone asks why you care.  Or do, whatever.

Pay to play games are too expensive, free to play games aren’t free enough. Truth is, there’s never been a better time to be a gamer price-wise. Sure, if you want a game on day 1 you might have to pay $70 today instead of the $60 you paid for the last 25 years. But you can buy games that came out like a year or two

Cartridges surely cost more than discs.  Now it’s the amount of man hours and voice actors and all the crazy production stuff that costs the most.

I’m gonna go out on a limb and say they’re not going to bringing Masterson back.

So?

Cool story. When the local supermarket first got self checkout near me in like 2007 I said the same thing about not wanting to do it myself. Didn’t take long to realize self-checkout is insanely faster and I never have to wait in line so now I only shop at places that have self-checkout.

I only use self checkout if it’s available.  Hate it when stores don’t have it.  Granted I’m only getting 10 items or less if I go in the store.  For actual grocery shopping we do the shopping online and just park outside and have them put it in the trunk.

I grew up on the Jersey shore and Jersey Mike’s was considered acceptable at best.  Outside of NJ/NY though it’s considerably better than places like Subway.

So if the streaming services who aren’t owned by Amazon, but still pay Amazon for servers can afford to pay 70/30 why can’t Twitch?  Why would Twitch have a harder time paying their server costs?

For the big streamers, sure.  For everyone else? Eh.  My biggest complaint about Youtube is political ads.

How?  If they were getting 70% and making less than $100k they still are.  If they were getting 50% they still are.  No change.

The best part is, the guy who scammed people didn’t even have gambling streams.  So not only did they do nothing for the hate raids, they also aren’t doing anything useful here either.

Counterpoint: Why would it matter if it was real or not real gambling?  Like, what’s the difference entertainment-wise?

So a guy ripped off a bunch of people for his offline sports betting habit and Twitch’s response is to ban every site except sports betting?  I can’t imagine missing the point more.

Sounds like you have a lot of hate inside.

So is people ending up dead because of gambling streams on Twitch. That’s the point.
