Are you a PC or console player? Not being passive aggressive here, just wanted to list a few AA/AAA co-op multiplayer games for you.

I would assume otherwise. Multiplayer/co-op games have to rely heavily on activity to remain relevant. They’ll include some type of quick match option; otherwise people “without friends” wouldn’t touch the game at all.

I’m about 30% through the game, does the variety of missions get better towards the end or am I free to just toss this aside as another example of why I need to stop pre-ordering games?

I was wrong - from @DarthNoll - “There’s actually a modification you can do to laser weapons in the game that regenerates shields when striking an ally.”

Players can refuel other players, but not repair them that I’m aware of. If the VIP had another escort to distract HP she could have jumped out the area and used AFMUs to repair her ship but she couldn’t jump out while under fire because HP had FSD (jump drive) disrupts equipped.
