Yeah, I also see this as a problem, being pushed from both sides. Racists want to conflate Jews with Israel so they can point to the actions of war criminals like Netanyahu and his government and say “see, Jews are bad”. On the other side, Israeli nationalists also want to conflate Jews with Israel so they can claim

What doesn’t help is that there’s Israeli interests who explicitly WANT this confusion to exist because it helps their geopolitical interests.

(As well as evangelical death cult interests in the US who want this confusion to exist because System Requirement for their doomsday prophecies, but that’s a whole other thing)

He was, but then, pretty much ever mainline Ubisoft character was.

Eh, my experience as a Jew is that when I get into a discussion of Israel it goes...not great on the antisemitism side. There is a LOT of antisemitism just below the surface in well-meaning people and you get to it pretty easily in that discussion. Especially because I despise Netanyahu and the current Israeli

I’m guessing you skipped the rest of the posts where she repeated AD NAUSEAM that she had full support and love for Jewish people and had many Jewish friends and loved ones AND was only criticizing the Israeli government and the media’s coverage of it.

Transistor is my favorite from them but fwiw the aesthetic and vibe do a lot of heavy lifting for my tastes.

i held off on Transistor for years and once I got about an hour or so into it I fell in love with it. The combat system that opens up is also amazing. Ignore the guy on the ending. The ending is fine, maybe they misunderstood it. You should get it. Its my 2nd favorite of their games after Hades.

I loved Transistor to bit. Art direction, soundtrack, gameplay... amazing through and through.

Ugh, Transistor’s ending pissed me off so much. It’s the nadir of the themes from Bastion and Pyre.

I love this game so so much, I hope this kind of thing inspires other studios to be more adventurous

Now playing

For anyone with a passing interest in video games (but ZERO interest in ever playing this very fun game), I’d suggest watching a playthrough of the section rather than this music video version.

This scene remains my favorite piece of entertainment in all of 2023. So confidently cheesy, and the gestures the actors make to get you onto the right path when you’re lost are FANTASTIC.

Now I know what I’ll be watching later while I work; thanks for sharing!

It almost sounds like the producers are accusing her of accusing him of something but she hasn’t actually publicly said anything herself about him. She denies allegations, which means she is denying allegations that she said he had allegations?

That they used the term “hysterical” says so much, good lord.

Not for nothing, the nightmare sequence near the beginning of Part 2 is probably the best summation of Batman’s origins and ethos in any medium, and it’s only like a minute long.

*Richard Moll as Two Face screaming as he falls into a burning chasm*:

Early credits include such character names as “Big Thug,” “Abominable Snowman,” and “Harold, The Monster.”

I was just watching the Two Face origin episode of Batman TAS a few nights ago. The way he differentiated between Harvey Dent and then Two Face (and then Two Face channeling Dent when speaking to his fiancée) is truly incredible. Growing up I always thought it was two different actors.

The best Halloween game remains DoubleFine’s “Costume Quest” since it actually captures why you probably love Halloween to begin with.  The sequel is fine too.
