Michael “The Incredibles” Giacchino is doing The Batman? Yeeeeeessssss.

I’ve only just started transitioning (at age 45) and yes, it’s going to be in private for quite a while. I don’t *think* my parents will react horribly, but I hate that I have zero reassurance that they won’t. And that’s why I’m glad to have so many friends in person and online who can provide the support and

I will be so dissapointed if Always Sunny doesn't take inspiration.

The Gang Frames Gritty For Assault

I’m extraordinarily happy that at all times it was just Gritty and there was no reference to the person or people who wear the costume.

Like we collectively decided Gritty is real.

Thank you for your work! :)

Pokemon has always, and always will be, targeted for the kids. And none of those kids care about things that riled up the haters. I think Nintendo would be more worried if long-time fans (who are not kids) were the ones happy while the kids are disinterested.

broke: 30 second Super Bowl Commercials
woke: 2 week long ARGs that culminate in a 60 second, $25 million ad where a “beloved” brand mascot comes back with a new coat of CGI paint and a more affordable celeb voiceover

What the fuck is happening

Yeah. It was a bit odd reading all the thinkpieces that criticized 50 Shades of Grey for being unrealistic. Of course it’s unrealistic; it’s a fantasy. That being said, the context of BDSM can provide good cover for abusers when one (or both) partners are uneducated about boundaries, so the issue of fantasy vs.

I just move “adult” to the end. Cartoons “for adults”. Or just go full comic book/graphic novel and call it an animated film/series. Maybe use the genre instead, like “animated drama”, or something similar.

“Mature”? That may work, though it may give the wrong impression given some of it (I enjoy Rick & Morty, but it’s a stretch to call it mature). “Grown-up”, even though it’s a phrase used by kids, kind-of works. “College age” leaving the ‘and older’ implied? “Senior”?

Scott Menville

... oh my god, he barely used a different voice for the two characters... that is the most discordant thing my brain has had to process in a while...

The fact that we got that episode in the year we did, and the fact that it was so tender and thoughtful and funny without being cruel is one of the biggest miracles in animation, as far as I’m concerned.

Mission Hill is easily one of my top animated series of all time. From their theme song being Italian Leather Sofa by Cake, to this very episode. For years I told my friends of this show and they never believed me until one of them found the DVD’s in a shop one day and bought them for me..... but this was just a gem

Mission Hill is great, and it’s also [loudly setting up soapbox] an example of the vital role piracy serves in preservation. As mentioned, it’s not available for streaming, and the DVDs had different music because of licensing issues (see also: Beavis and Butt-Head, Daria, Beverly Hills 90210, and many others), so you

Mission Hill is my favorite animated sitcom of all time. Not only is it fantastically written, poignant even more today then when it came out, it’s genuinely given me hope as i transistioned into adulthood and replicated some of the scenes in the show. And when you can laugh in a moment of life despair, that’s
