Yep, this is the way to go for most things. Rarely do you actually need to know someone’s gender to address them. So there’s no reason to bring it up when you can use generic pronouns.

Epic Mickey actually was pretty good. The original Disney NES games were so fun, but they were Nintendo Hard.
Ive been trying super hard to not refer to gender, although my co-workers do it all the time. I’m even gotten good at excising “guys” from my vocab. I use “folks” most of the time, because it’s friendly and popular in queer circles but also kinda Southern, and where I work definitely had strong Southern culture.
It might be a pain in the ass, but training your vocab to be gender-neutral is worth it. I have a female friend who is called “sir” twice a month, even when she wears makeup, and it really upsets her.
The point is, with gender as a wide spectrum instead of an either/or situation, it’s best to just… not refer to gender, if you can help it.
I like the Sesame Street bits where a human kid is talking to a muppet. You know that from the child’s point of view, there’s an elevated stage, there’s a human or even two crouching down working the muppet, there are wires and mikes and whatever. But the kid never looks down, just looks straight at the muppet,…
Theres a story that Cleese tells about when he hosted the muppet show how they kept retaking a scene and when they finally got it, he was so relieved he patted Kermit on the head. I can imagine it’s pretty easy to get caught up in the moment
I like that he addressed the puppets directly rather than talking to Henson, Oz, or whoever’s hand was jammed up that particular piece of felt’s ass. I’m betting the puppeteers (Muppeteers?) appreciated that, too.
1. Kairi has a keyblade in this game and she’s training to become a master, so she’ll probably even be playable at some point
That last letter was all kinds of weird.
Ah yes, this is all just a cult of personality thing. It’s not like it’s really cool and noteworthy that a politician shouted out and then made a guest appearance on a prominent British LeftTuber’s charity stream and voiciferously defended trans rights the whole time. It’s not like a politician showing an interest in…
IIRC they actually worked with the MoCreatures guy when adding horses. I met some of the minecraft devs once. incredibly nice people.
Well, Best Friends Play basically carried Machinima for a long time, and now they’re gone, so.
I think Composting is mostly for people who play in peaceful mode, and thus have no access to bone meal.
I think the original Jumanji is a bit overrated but the reboot/sequel is pretty fun. Zathura, which is also sorta a sequel, isn’t bad either.
OF COURSE it’s some dude targeting a woman.
This is absolutely stomach-turning. Any time someone tells me “rape culture” doesn’t exist (and yes, I know, “well, actually” brigade, she wasn’t raped in this instance), I point to shit like this; a woman can be assaulted—in the US, Japan, or anywhere else—and the onus inevitably comes back to her, even if her…
Are we going with DuckTalesverse or Disney Afternoon Universe?
He doesn’t need any more work. Fuck him. He can retire rich. Let a new generation of non-rapey talent come in.
It’s funny how #MeToo opponents keep saying that the movement might ruin an innocent person’s career, when that hardly ever even happens to the guilty people.
