SOON

I like to think of our CX-5 as a lifted 4 door hatchback Miata. Something something... drive a slow car fast... something something

My college roommate and I drove from Daytona to his dad’s house in Tampa. We took my MKV GTI out that night to find all of the fun local roads he knew of. We drove cloverleafs and exit ramps around the greater Tampa area as my buddy dictated pace notes from the right seat. Unfortunately, I didn’t heed his warnings on

It wasn’t until I bought a manual vehicle of my own that I understood this. I had been taught the “raise and hold the revs” method by multiple friends and was never able to get smooth starting under control. Once I started practicing in my own car I realized that wasn’t the way to make a smooth progressive clutch

All at once? That may go poorly.

dear God those are massive

Could have been. Trying to recall the front end I keep picturing the headlamps protruding out the front of the car rather than set a bit further aft like the Sprite. I’m no expert on older low volume sports cars but it seems that they all had similar design aspects - the genre as a whole is really growing on me.

I don’t know how I didn’t know that Crosley was based here in Cincy. Just about a month ago I saw what might have been a Hotshot near Kings Island area. It might have also been a Jowett Jupiter - I only got a quick look at the profile and two round headlamps

Thanks for the video. I sent it to my old roommate - he built the carbon body on Skinner’s truck. He hadn't heard what happened to his handiwork

While it would be great for cruising, I’m not sure how I’d like to have to use a steering knob to avoid debris/lost loads/deer carcasses kicked out in front of me by a truck.

They’d be okay with it if the ratio of vehicle CG height to track width was within the acceptance criteria in the rulebook. My buddy got an exception to autocross his 5.0 swapped Ranger with the SCCA but was told after the event to lower it before coming back.

Got any more picture from Hyperfest?

I have one of these as a daily and the only scary thing about it is telling people what you drive to work.

You do realize that KW coilovers are some of, if not THE best units on the market and that KW's are used in top levels of motorsports? Those are not some shitty $600 Ground Control or FK coilovers that are used by the stance crowd. Those are serious business.

Of course they will be compared, and to certain drivers the Miata will win out over the other 2 based on other factors beyond of power to weight. Could it be more powerful? Yes. Does it need to be? Not according to Mr. Baruth. I'll make a judgement for myself when I'm able to test drive the ND, but until then I'm

Well that's why those cars exist. The Miata isn't supposed to clobber those cars in power to weight or even match them in that area. Jack said it best in the article:

Right, I should have been more precise and said "university"

NASCAR is something too cool for you.

Here is a 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT on eBay with a current bid of $3550 but should wrap up around the $6k mark.
