I'm surprised the TSA didn't raise a larger stink over this. They didn't like the idea of me carrying a failed 2.0T camshaft on a domestic flight once, though I guess an engine block is much less weapon-like than a "2 foot long spiked club."

This article got me thinking about trying a sim. I tried looking up info on Simraceway but it keeps getting caught in the filter at work (all things tagged as "games" are blocked). I keep reading that it's free though but what does that mean? Free to download and no subscription fee but do you have to pay for every

Jetta is derived from the German name for the Jetstream. Many of VW's cars are named after winds: http://members.iinet.net.au/~felsche/Bernd/trivia/vwcars.html

"The realities of CAFÉ have likely made sales of the third generation Mazda6 wagon impossible in the United States."

As a Fiero owner who isn't a big fan of Fiero-based replicas, I think this wouldn't have been half bad if it WERE Fiero-based. Sadly it's not and it looks like garbage.

It depends on what vehicle they're going on. You can get a set of 4 extreme performance summer tires (like the Dunlop Z1 Star Specs) for under a grand in a 17" or smaller wheel size. If you have wide 18" wheels then you can probably only get 3 tires for $1k, and if you have 19" wheels? Yeah maybe just 2.

I think they may have been inspired by this movie on that one

I love Sean Klingelhoefer's work for Super Street and other magazines and websites such as Speedhunters. He shoots some awesome cars and events and even takes the time to explain his more complicated shoots on his blog. His shots from the 'ring are jaw dropping. More from his portfolio in reply.

With the bloat of the F150 and death of the Ranger, the US needs a new small pickup or two. VW has both the Saviero and the Amarok and we need both of them here.

I'm a big fan of his and have been since I met him in Daytona before the 2008 Rolex 24. He was doing a book signing at a small local resturant and having just fnished reading his book my roommate and I decided to stop by. Not too many people must have heard about it because only a half dozen or so people showed up. We

Volkwagen. Contrary to popular belief, you can actually see daylight under some VW's.

Now playing

I have a soft spot for 302 Rangers. I helped my college roommate drop a 5.0 into his Ranger. That was such an awesome truck. The engine now lives on in a caged foxbody mustang, but the memories of ol' Rosie live on in our hearts.

Mine's also white, 4 or 5 speed? (I have a 3 speed...damn 2nd gear ran away)

sweet, another Fiero owning jalop! (I have an 86 GT) I wonder how many more of us there are here

Have hashtags changed since 5.0? I put #opporeviews at the end of my post but don't see it in jalopnik.com/opporeviews/forum

Don't be lazy and actually use your trunk/frunk/bed/boot/whatever other storage area the designer intended you to use. It may be easier and faster to just drop your gym bag, textbooks, mail, and that package you've been meaning to drop off at the post office into the passenger or back seat but it just makes the car

Who said Jalopnik isn't educational? I've lived in Cincinnati for almost a year and never knew where the name came from.
