I wonder if the woman waving the flag was the one Fox News posted a clip of as “woman waving American flag gets knocked down and dragged!!!!” when if you watch the clip, someone walking by takes a swipe at the flag, she tries to throw a punch, then CHASES the guy through the crowd, trips and falls, gets up and runs…
Most elected officials won’t go on the record supporting it, but most (or at least a large proportion) of civilians on the left support it. The average American probably has been fed so many lies about how it works, though, that they are against it because they think it will double there tax bill and mean they’d have…
I feel obligated to address the ‘confident weirdo’ thing, if only because people may think that it’s just branding. I grew up in Quebec and have been acquainted with her since the early ‘80s, when she was just a teenager. This is who she is. She hasn’t changed one bit, and I admire that about her.
There is not enough Purell in the world to make me eat something with my hands on the subway. So a protein bar, or any candy bar, where I can just gradually peel down the wrapper is fine. But for those who aren’t germaphobes, I think the rule of thumb just ought to be: if you can smell it, don’t eat it on the subway.
I can’t articulate the emotion this piece evoked. I read it with clenched teeth. It made me hypersalivate, the way you do before vomiting. A scream roiled deep in me, lost energy; turned into a sob, lost more energy still and never escaped my mouth.
i had a few deaths during my school years including a friend but i’ve always been able to shrug that shit off... i dunno youthfull indifference?
I wish this was a long con of his dad. Like he releases these emails that implicate his father and willingly also goes to jail. I like imagine him sitting in a jail and thinking, “Worth it.”
As Nevergreen says above, belting can be good! But one thing you’ll find about being a legit old is that you care a lot less of what your body looks like. Like, I’ve quit agonizing over things that make my big butt look big. My butt is big, so what? I’m just rolling with it. It’s sooo freeing. That being said, I do…
Nope, you are not an old. I am an old, in my early 50's, and sack dressing is a fucking godsend. Nothing fits me well anymore anyway (just wait until your meticulously-maintained body gets a mind of its own), so I may as well be comfortable and I’m DELIGHTED that these are currently fashionable. I’m going to continue…

I for one welcome this trend and own several sack dresses. What I like the most is that I’m dressing for myself and my own comfort, and DGAF what people think. I don’t care how hobo-esque they look, sack dresses are airy, light, comfy and I can sweat in peace.
It’s the “Don’t wait up!” The pics and “Made some new friends” would have been funny, but the punchline is fantastic.
If you’re not willing to have a Filipina nurse attend to you in America, you’re running a very big risk of not getting any treatment anywhere. I knew a guy who got evacuated from the Philippines because he refused to let a Filipinx doctor operate on him. By the time he went into surgery in San Francisco he was…
I know it would probably be counterproductive, but man I would love to get a whole gang of people and do the same things outside their church on a Sunday morning...
And even though she acts like an idiotic asshole, she’s still just a child, barely a teenager, just posturing a tough act to the world. Who knows what abuse and trauma happened in her fourteen years to now act so “tough”. And now she has to keep acting this way bc the adults in her life have elevated that behavior…
Just finished “The Mothers” a few days ago. I enjoy Bennett’s writing, but was disappointed by the ending and highly annoyed by the pro-life stance and highly unrealistic way a young man’s life was supposedly affected for like a decade after his girlfriend had an abortion. But maybe someone else would like this book…
The black guy (sorry, I don’t any of their names) looks pretty happy to see him go. The lady realizes how ridiculous the video is.
Thank you for posting openly. I started with a cryptic vague post because I was worried about privacy for my daughter, and then I sobbed to see a post from another mom—and I realized how important it is that we know there are other parents here. I know precious few parents who have sought treatment for their kids…
