Haha. What can I say; I'm "Young, Gifted, and Black".

Oh, So You Think You Can Dance. Why?
These are currently all of my thoughts about grad school. It doesn't help that I'm in Chicago and I don't really know anyone besides the people in my program. Not counting the guys who hit on me on the street, I haven't met anyone. Just a huge "booo" all the way around.
The first thing that popped into my head? Well, I'm the shit, fool. Other than that, I got nothing.
Funny how I only think about grilling as a seasonal option. This frying business sounds . . . interesting.
1.) I see we're doing the internet gestures of condescension instead of just talking. Noted.
"We're really committed to the lie*."
I was confused by this too. I was like, "how else do you make a hot dog", but maybe the white part was eating it for dinner? No lo so.
With the "lawd" and the "sigh" I wasn't sure how to read your response, but I figured we're all having civil conversation; why expect the worst?
I'm just saying that constantly having your hair pulled back* isn't always beneficial—to all hair types. All hair (scalp too) benefits from just letting the hair relax. I don't know Zahara's hair type to try to police it from pap photos**. Although Zahara doesn't have as much hair as I did at that age, I'm mostly just…
I've heard that, but I was mostly talking about the fact that Zahara's hair is always pulled back*. As @Moretta said, it's bad for all types of hair, so I was just hoping that they don't have that as her default hairstyle**. All hair benefits from letting it (pardon the expression) do what it do.
Zarah looks very well put together, which is funny for such a young person.
That's the cyclical nature of the beast though, isn't it? White people get used for everything to the exclusion of other races. You become accepting of seeing white as the default group, to advertise to or advertise with. When POC (and companies working on inclusion—not in the token way) want to break that mold and…
Indeed, it does. Not for all products, but things like clothing.
Sorry, Neville, but there's only one H.P. guy for me.
Well, chances are that he had the same problem with the non-brown kids, but he focused in on them. I say this as someone who has worked in schools and has one more year of Elem Ed study to go. Is it possible that the "two brown kids" talked a lot? Yep, but it's even more likely that he has ignored/tolerated/gave more…
There's nothing like explaining to people that there are rules and structure to AAVE*. People might not realize it, even if they use it themselves. My favorite example of AAVE in a Ling. lecture was the revelation that "been" was used to denote a certain period of passed time.
Ha ha, just giving you a defense.
If you're from Detroit, it's gym shoes. This sneakers BS is for the birds.
But "you mad?" was used in real life before it became this trend on the internet.
