Bingo. The majority of the fight scenes felt superfluous and unimportant. It’s like they have a quota that every episode must have a drawn out, overloaded battle scene.

The romance stuff in this past season was awful. Way too heavy-handed and on the nose. I think they need to scale back on the fights. Too many of the fights felt completely shoehorned in just to have them without them fitting the logic of the story (see EVERY TIME the well-armed Ghosts devolved into fisticuffs with our protagonists rather than BLASTING THEM TO PIECES).

Me too. He was the last great villain the show had. Darhk was good for half the season before he got devoured by crater-sized plot holes (just got the power of 10,000 souls behind him, but that was all minimized by the hope of about 30 people? WTF?)

I didn’t know that any of the other movies considered Gojira as their first movie. Whenever I watched any of the films, I always took it as Godzilla was either back again after having been scared away or was somehow resurrected after being killed/destroyed.
