That could work. I don’t know that you completely remove it from the timeline, but future movies can selectively retcon elements that failed or simply didn’t work in BvS (i.e. Jimmy Olsen’s completely irrelevant death, Superman’s stupidity and angst, Batman’s meatheadedness, etc).

The most frustrating aspect about the show to me is how they stretch on storylines for far too long just to fill space.
