When I first saw the Star Fox video, I actually thought it was another iteration of Star Fox 64.

I’d imagine that given how much stuff they retconned in and out of FFVII post-release that the remake will incorporate a lot of that and make the main storyline more in sync with what’s been released. It’s for the same reason why I still have my old SNES, N64, and Genesis. I don’t play any of them, but they have sentimental value.

I already have a spaghetti of wires behind my TV as it is. I know I was waiting on upgrading to an Xbox One because of that lack of backwards compatibility, but now that it’s coming I will likely seek to upgrade this holiday.

This. I’ve always thought it incredibly insulting that they believe the TV audience is too dumb to tell the difference between a version of a character on TV and a different version of the same character on film.

Sounds like quite a bit of backpedaling. I feel this is the better choice, though, rather than outright canceling the movie because of vague threats.
