You can make the Fire about 3o0% more useful by sticking the Google Play store on it. You don’t even have to root it, just use a developer-mode USB debugging trick. Once you do that, well, it probably won’t be any more useful for “productivity” apps, but it’ll still be able to do a lot more than it could locked into…
