Depp has way more hits than misses and while the character was fine, the most overrated movie series of all time, ALL TIME is Pirates. 

Depp is for sure overrated. He doesnt hold candle to anything ive seen from Day Lewis and Phoenix. And id still prefer anything from Freeman, Hanks, Oldman, Dicaprio or Hoffman or even Mapother.
