I don't think there are any parasites that are transported by pollen. Pollen is far too small and most parasitic larvae are far too large to mix.

IgE is a very specific immunoglobulin specifically designed to deal with parasites. It is also the specific Ig that is overactive in people's seasonal allergies, asthma, and the likes.

The strongest theory right now is that IgE is responsible for taking care of parasites in the body. When there are no parasites, it slowly begins attacking things that don't resemble parasites, like pollen.
