Why does it have to be a competition? Why can’t you accept that people get upset about things and not other things? Why does it matter why someone finds something offensive?

Nope. I’d say we’re against tired stereotypical depictions that reduce us to a plot point in someone else’s story. Or that sexualize what would be traumatic experiences, in a way violence against men is not sexualized.
What are the prison rape routines that are supposed to have caused this outrage? Regardless, pretty much every time someone makes a joke/comment about wishing prison rape on someone around here, there is someone else who says we shouldn’t make that joke.
You are aware that men are fully functional human beings, aren’t you? We do in fact bleed when cut and we can be severly impacted by traumatizing events, I can assure you.
Rape is both too close to home and too realistic. I would have the same visceral horror to a male character being raped; but that almost never happens in cinema, because it would be too humiliating. However, fictional women are raped all the time as a cheap shock. Female rape in movies has the added horror of being…
Your condescending “reading comprehension” comments aren’t relevant when you don’t make sense.
I saw this movie, and while I am loath to mock people’s delicate sensibilities, that’s a pretty accurate description.
A couple of points:
Your strawman
“Cuz the only reasonable way to show male on male rape outside a prison scenario would be if the rapist was gay. Imagine the outrage in the LGBTQ community!”
And if rape is just like any other kind of violence, how come more male rape isn’t shown? How come if it is shown, the movie’s rating is automatically higher? Rape is always on the table for female characters (under 35, thin, attractive, that is) in a way that it is not for male characters.
I’m so sorry—I didn’t realize who you were. And lol for your version of reality where these cackling women revel in gory violence against men.
Well, I think it’s because women are sexualized more, too. So it is more “brave” because men are rarely shown in a manner that might be sexual.
You make a really good point about it being the woman’s “job” to be naked in movies. It seems that way, doesn’t it?
FYI this Burn baby burn person lovvvvveeees to start shit so avooooid.
And Trump’s ahead of Hils in the latest poll. So, surprise.
Welcome to America, where showing a woman getting punched in the face will earn you a PG rating but having showing her having consensual sex will earn you a hard R.
The saddest thing is that this is the number one movie in America.
