Maybe they shouldn’t have played him at all this season. Let him mature and develop during the year, get used to the NBA grind, then be ready next season and still be considered a ‘rookie’ a la Ben Simmons.

 Actually, you were told that single handedly taking a team to a winning record, while leading the league in scoring and being second in assists, and playing with high energy and intensity while not taking even a quarter off, and averaging a triple double while doing that... is the Most Important Thing.

Exactly. Everyone is focusing on the awful defense, which is understandable, but how about a little hate for Marcus Smart, who had two of the most open shots in the history of the NBA and didn’t even come close to making them.

Not just them. If you expand the list to include PFs, then Hakeem out-dueled Karl Malone, Charles Barkley, David Robinson and Shaq on his way to the championship.

Which is why I don’t blame players like Hayward when they leave.
