I don’t think that Civilization V or ARMA 3 players would react the same way as Call Of Duty players, because the internet and its denizens are actually less broad and diverse than the entire world outside of the internet and everything the actual world actually fucking contains.

Also, I think companies really need to get out of the habit of firing people because there aren’t enough strongly enforced labour laws and unionised representative bargaining agreements to stop employee abuse entirely.

Except her original essay back from long ago was never about reducing the restrictions/lowering age of consent. Her essay was detailing the history on punishment with child pornography, and stating that our laws dealing with child pornography in the west namely US isn’t working, and that US shouldn’t force Japan to

I don’t want to sound like I am on Nintendo’s side here, because I am not, but I understand why they might have done it in this case- she’s in marketing and this makes it really hard for her to do her marketing job. The answer, of course, is to either stand behind her publicly or, failing that, move her somewhere else

I also believe that companies should just tell these trolls where they go fly their virtual kite instead of caving to these people, especially when the person that had to eat the firing did nothing wrong.

I think companies really need to get out of the habit on firing people because the internet demands a sacrifice. It only encourages people to continue using toxic behaviors to push their agendas.

Sigh.

Somehow the NFL must be making money or trying to make money.

It’s like seeing a unicorn.

When the NFL has the holds the high moral ground over you, you’re pushing a bad position. I live in Atlanta and I’m not trying to say it’s perfect, but it feels like an island.

That’s why I prefer Arizona over Georgia. It’s the dry hate.

That would really ruin the song though:

She publicly called on a company to fire one of their employees, and has the gall to say she was “inserted,” passive-voice, into the conflict. I’m sure she supports a good cause, but that is a disappointing abdication of personal responsibility.

What a tiny, much smaller than average surprise that Gamers have wasted precious hours of their lives constructing a hate machine against Alison Rapp.

She’s full of shit. She jumped feet first into this making absurd public demands of nintendo instead of asking for clarification by back channels - and she did it in a way that is just going to get her attention while harming Alison’s reputation.

Except this person already inserted themselves into the argument, by defaming Rapp and tweeting that she’s a pedophile.

That twist in the story was the strangest of all. Jamie Walton appears to be doing good work, and I’m not sure how she got caught up in all of this.

There’s a whole lot to unpack in here, but this part in particular

Why do you think waifu or husbando pillows are ridiculous? If people want to buy them men or women more power to them.
