A Car That Feels Feelings

The hardcore 4x4 guys do ridiculously awesome custom headers because they have extremely tight tolerances.

That would be amazing.  We need a ~$30k mid-engine GM sports car.

When was the last big surprise?  The Ford GT?

I think Chevy could have started development on Jan 1st 2019 and still beat Toyota to final public reveal.

“Surprise.” “Reveal.”

So Chevy started development when Toyota started hinting at a reveal?

Conspiracy theory: It’s not the new ‘Vette, it’s a revival of the Fiero - and the Pontiac nameplate, which will be sold in Buick dealerships...

I just don’t see anyone giving a shit about this car by the time Toyota finally pulls the sheets off of the official car at the intro. They’ve been dragging this game on way too long and at the end of the day, it’s just an underwhelming BMW Z4 that will be priced too high to make a big hit as a Toyota.

It is a BMW Z4 coupe with extra ugly.

I sure hope the Supra comes out looking different because that thing in the picture is hella ugly.

I like how the Supra & Bronco are next to each other on the list because those are two examples of the worst way and the best way to build excitement for the revival of a revered nameplate.

You do realise Toyota doesn’t have a Inline 6 to work with right? its incredibly expensive to develop a new engine family especially for one car. And no they wouldn’t use a near 30 year old engine, that’s like Ford selling the new Mustang with a 302.

Zing!

It is a badge-engineered BMW Z4 coupe.

What Toyota should have done is to spend some of the billions they have in the bank and designed a proper Supra. Slapping a Supra badge on a BMW Z4 does not make it a Supra.

ugh, Toyota should not have rushed it

^^ This. With all the accompanying reliability.

That’s actually rather ... ugly.  And slapping a Supra badge on a BMW doesn’t make it a Toyota.

You’re just upset that he has way more years of experience than you
