Well, your point is, as you said, true of all labor unions but the difficulty in getting rid of union employees is sometimes well founded. The entire REASON for labor unions is to protect the workers. Police unions are very vocal in furtherance of their agenda but again, thats often necessary.

The Union’s job is to protect its members. They usually do this by providing attorneys for officers accused of wrongdoing. The important thing to remember is that the union doesn’t KNOW whether allegations of misconduct are true.

I don’t think you actually know what Police unions do. While they are (like all labor unions) political animals, the unions are not pushing their members to lock up innocent people for non-existent crimes.

Couldnt disagree more. Autonomous automobiles ate in their infancy. It’s not at all reasonable for a mature adult person to blindly put their faith into a self-driving car, particularly when that car warns you every time you activate the autopilot that you STILL HAVE TO BE ALERT AND RESPONSIBLE.

The “rate” at which cops are shooting unarmed civilians? There are over 300,000,000 people in the US, over 800,000 uniformed police officers and over FORTY MILLION police/civilian interactions per year.

I can’t speak for other cities but the two things that make me confident that he was called on are A) crank 911 calls are a daily occurrence here and B) the volume of 911 calls in NYC doesn’t really permit 4 cars to come to a traffic stop unless there’s a compelling reason.
