    True, I think many gamers dismiss it as the middle child. I think the reviewers gave it enough praise, but gamers have yet to accept it, unfortunately. I honestly think Minerva's Den is one of the best pieces of DLC ever released.

    Although that is accurate, my point still stands. If it was not a sequel to Bioshock it probably would have received better reviews. Obviously since it takes place in the same setting as well as uses most of the same mechanics and gameplay, it can't really stand on its own with just its story.

    I think its ratings reflect what it is, a game that is unfortunately the prequel to one of the great ones. People had higher expectations than they should. I think it is a serviceable game, but the story of the base game is lacking. On the other hand, Minerva's Den is fantastic and I wish was its own standalone…
