The Alpha and Betas were not good. The various classes didn't seem interesting enough and many of the abilities and weapons were poorly balanced. Hopefully they reeled in some of the issues.

You probably tried to install the old Large Address Aware exe over the patched exe that specifically blocks foreign access. You could have just checked the integrity of your game files.
