Not in NY with a job like that. Most likely they are not seeing their kids/spouse or are doing terribly at work.

Some definitely do sleep that little or less. I hear "I am just one of those people who doesn't need that much sleep" all the time, but I think these people suffer through it the first few years before the damage is too far gone and it becomes habit - must be absolute misery. Even then, most aren't taking wrestling…
You don't like Paul Giammati?
I say the same thing, I know I am supposed to hate Chuck, and sometimes I do, but most of the time I kind of like him and root for him. And the same with Axe.
I love this show, it's my guilty pleasure. In some ways, it's so over the top that it's classic escapist television. Love it.
This is funny. But I don't know about that, when I became very unexpectedly pregnant, my then fiance was thrilled and took it in stride. I hate to even write this (bc my daughter is my life and my joy) but I didn't want a baby or a pregnancy AT ALL, I cried for 3 days straight. I thought my life was over, had no clue…
There are valid points to both sides. There is another consideration: I have a friend who got pregnant youngish/mid-20s, was not in a great relationship, decent apartment, working to make ends meet. She had an abortion. Fast forward, she just turned 43. Took her till 39 to find a man to settle down with (who has a kid…
Completely agree, and not to trivialize abortion, but here in NY, it's seems to be part of the prevailing ethos. Young single career-minded woman, unplanned pregnancy? You get an abortion. I still think that Hannah will get the abortion bc, ironically, it seems a more natural thing to do for a woman like her.
I agree, it's not low-skilled if you are doing it right.
It's funny that this episode happened just as I am having the same thoughts about my own child. She really is the easiest, least complicated part of my life. All she wants is for me to spend time with her, play with her, teach her things - and she brings me the greatest reward and satisfaction in life. Not being…
Yes, but it's only like that for a little over a year. Actually, from 6-10 months, things get a little easier before they get a more difficult again. But as long as you have at least one other person helping, you can do it. I finished my last year of grad school when my daughter was 18 months. My dad watched her while…
If you watched the discussion of the episode by the writers (including Lena Dunham) after the show, they pretty much said that same - that initially they did not intend to have him take out his penis, it was more of a last minute decision.
Agree, it was a bad move to get rid of Conlin just when he was starting to become an interesting character - and his relationship with Carrie was involving into something more mutually beneficial. I can't begin to understand why they would do this.
I think we are seeing shades of Rebecca with her leaving the family to go on tour with an ex she kept secret….no? In other words, they weren't perfect spouses or parents (as the three adult children evince through their individual struggles), no one is, so I think we will be seeing more of what you described.
I did not know this, sort of like an internal curve then. Don't think I like that…..
I think Jason Katims also worked on My So Called Life, which This is Us strongly evokes for me personally (just as it does 30something for my mom). I have heard of Fogelman from different shows (I'm sure I've watched many of them), but can't recall specifically what else he has done. But yes, this show seems more…
Ok, fair enough. I do think with Randall a large part of his character is that he does need to loosen up and not be "Mr. Perfect" so much. I think that is what William was trying to tell him. "Don't make your bed," "Grow out your fro," "Roll down the window." He also told Randall how shocked he was to see him after…
It's strange bc "It Always Sunny," "Marvel's Agents of SHIELD," and "The Magicians" all got As. Surely, their latest episodes are not better than this.
hmmmm interesting, I have to rewatch. I missed that though.
Did you write this comment knowing Ken Olin is a producer on This is Us?? So crazy, because my mom is always comparing This is Us to 30something too. She likes Ken Olin, big 30something fan.
