Did y'all know that March of Dimes began as a campaign for donations to the campaign to eradicate polio? People sent tons and tons of dimes to the FDR White House?! I learned this in the excellent Polio: An American Story.

I have to say, this is the first time I've had the basic tenets of their grievances listed so concisely, and how do you refute such a list? Its based in such a subjective "reality" that its hard to know where to even start. The conversation they're having is so different from the one we're having.

The remarkable thing, to me, about this is the continuing dystopian fantasy about "women's privileges" maintained by these nutcases and far too many who don't pull out the guns, but complain privately. If you quiz them about what these "privileges" are, they'll tell you:

- women expect and get free everything
- women…

That was beautiful and heartbreaking and absolutely worth reading. I applaud this young lady for knowing what is best for her and stating it so clearly without apologizing for her decision.

The comments on the thread are really great because they run the entire range of experiences. And, fortunately, the mods stepped in and banned any arguments about abortion.

Sometimes it is an easy decision. Sometimes there are no emotions involved at all. I feel for women that struggle with it.

This movie was fantastic. A walking weapon realizes what it is, and realizes that the great power it wields can make it a force for monstrous evil or great good. It comes down to the choice of the mind behind all that metal. How that mind is raised governs what it becomes; Atom0 or Superman.
