The only people who think like this are the people who are privileged enough to do so.

I just found out the emails that were hacked were all from May after the election was decided. From the tone of the reaction you’d think they were from the day after Bernie announced. Are they bad? Yes. DWS and the staffers involved should all be gone today. BUT, it’s not nearly as awful as people are trying to make

The sheer goddamned privilege of anyone who is considering NOT voting for Clinton* is just melting my fucking brain right now. You have a blanket opposition to war? I bet you’re not Jewish. You don’t care about what the RNC and DNC platforms say about gay marriage? I bet you’ve never tried to visit your partner in the

“I won’t vote for anybody but Bernie. I am voting for Trump.”

I have a panic attack every time i hear about a democrat who wants to vote for Trump just to spite Hillary.

Unless their hiring standards change as well, zero of those applications are going to be accepted, if they display too much intelligence or empathy. Let’s not forget the guy from Connecticut who was rejected by the CPD because he was “too intelligent” and therefore deemed unacceptable because he may eventually

Pretty much my exact thoughts.

Am I wrong or is there no reason to believe that it’s protesters doing the applying?

The new applications may be coming from protestors inspired by Chief Brown’s challenge, they may be coming from people feeling grief and frustration after those officers were murdered (or both). Whoever the new recruits are, they’ve got their work cut out for them.

I’m reminded of footage from Samantha Bee’s show when they went to a fair in Pennsylvania and a guy was saying that a woman shouldn’t be president. When the anchor called them out for how sexist that is he replied that “it’s not sexist, it’s just my opinion.” THOSE AREN’T MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE, BRUH.

John Oliver actually talked about that this week. About this whole idea that beliefs literally trump facts in politics now.

To me the depressing thing is that no matter who wins the election, we seem to have reached the point (on both sides, to some extent) where everyone’s bespoke information supply has shattered the concept of objective reality.

You’re entirely correct of course, but more importantly, I can’t believe it’s not being reported on that these were Russian hackers who obtained, filtered, and passed on this information, and how closely it all tracks with Putin wanting Trump to beat the Democratic nominee, and Trump’s support of Putin’s policies...

Fair enough.

He has a 100% rating from NARAL, genius.

I don’t care if politicians are personally pro-life, so long as they don’t impose that on their constituents. That’s what “pro choice” means, after all.

“pro life guy”

4 years from now, when the Republicans are rebuilding the party Trump tore apart, Cruz will be standing on that stage reminding everyone that he was the one with the “principles” to stand up to Trump. Just you wait.

Yes, they are. Just because they’re unelectable for different reasons doesn’t change the fact that what you think is “unelectable” could be exactly what the Republican base goes for in 4 years. No one would have predicted they’d go for Trump this year, but here we are.
