People playing at being poor makes me crazy. It’s why I detest On The Road so much. If I wanted to listen to a bunch of middle-class white dudes wax poetic about issues that don’t effect them I would join the Republican party.

It really wasn’t. I still watched the entire thing because I was bored and the episodes are so short but it wasn’t a good show. The acting was mostly cringe-worthy and everything felt sort of...like it was done with an air of superiority (does that make any sense?). It was as if the producers and writers were too sure…
It was a good show
I haven’t seen it but it’s *insert grumpy cat meme* good that a shitty human being isn’t being further rewarded with visibility and money.
a useful rule of thumb is that if you’re going to make another show about an entitled white millennial, it’d better be damn good—
WHEN can we finally cancel Johnny Depp? Coke bloated, woman abusing, Peanuts background character looking motherfucker. CANCEL THAT SHIT.
Domestic abuse isn’t a “secret” but a crime.
I am appalled that this is what is required to believe a woman’s word on intimate partner violence.
It is almost certain that an NDA would not be upheld in a court to the extent it was being used to cover up illegal activities like abuse.
When it was filmed, he was merely rumoured to be a fuckwit, rather than it being so clearly evident.
I hope they recast the part. They recast Dumbledore because they had to, they can recast this role too.
They might have been contractually obligated to keep Depp’s secrets. Famous people are notorious for having non-disclosure agreements. So if the contract was broken then they’d be able to say something. So yeah, it’s still money, but a bit more complicated.
Why oh why did you cast him in a critical role JK Rowling, a role that will last over a decade...
So, is the sum of this that they would have protected him and his abusive ways if he hadn’t filed suit? As much shit as Amber Heard took when she left him and said he abused her, she could have used as many people in her corner as possible. It’s disappointing that money trumped her safety.
While I’m glad additional corroboration is coming to light that supports Amber Heard’s statements, I am appalled that this is what is required to believe a woman’s word on intimate partner violence.
Is that what we are calling racism now, pet issues? I guess it’s also a pet issue when the Dutch dress up as Zwarte Piet, or when some Aussies go on TV in full blackface singing songs.
It’s rather interesting that people expect an Iranian woman to address specific American social issues. Are we going to demand that Black Panther talk about Indian treatment of widows, Latin American antisemitism, and violence against albinos across Africa.
I’m sure he could find some reasonable ones to talk to, but he might have to leave his little New York bubble.
I hope she comes here to read this and see how awful she came across. Of course she doesn’t see anything wrong with blackface so she will see any criticism and become defensive.
Not to mention, isn’t this the same guy who, by his own admission, is the actual guilty party in the sexual misconduct scandal that Gawkerverse keeps trying to pin on Louis CK?
