That’s a reasonable choice one has to make, something I’ve done too. In the end, it’s not Jalopnik’s nor Deadspin’s fault the results are shared before everyone has watched it. If it is a priority to someone, they should take action to watch it on their time.

So because I realize that the internet exists and there is a chance that a story could give the results, I choose to work around the blog’s schedule of releasing stories by either watching it live or watching it later without getting online, I’m the narcissist?

Boohoo. Your inadequacy isn’t your inability to watch it live, it is not having the self-control to avoid digital media until you are able to enjoy the race in its entirety.

In all honesty, if it really means that much to you to see it for yourself, you should just avoid the internet altogether and make it a priority to watch it the first thing Sunday morning.
