I'm thinking, harking back to the early 90s Celica GT-Four era, a mash-up would be brilliant.

Damn I wasn't aware of the inline rule, I just thought it was 1.6L 4-banger.

Well shit, their sales are on like a 1000000 month positive streak, they should be able to justify *some* investment in the team. Get some bigger sponsors to take up more of the costs.

M'lady

Their first exclusion in the rover yielded numerous samples of lunar rock.

This is you not getting my sarcasm.

OMG you're harassing Travis; you represent all Jalopnik readers.

It would have been better if the van was colored gold, so he could say, "IT'S GOLD, JERRY, GOLD!"

wow

God bless the /b/tards that are also Jalops.

BUT MUH RACING LINE

On full screen at 1080p, my heart skipped a beat and stomach got that momentary empty feeling when he dropped in. *shiver*

LOL relax, it was meant as a bit of lighthearted engineering hyperbole. No one is going to run fuel trucks up and down a runway just to cool the fuel a few degrees. To me it would be fun to see what it would take to make it happen. Since I don't see any trucks already doing this, I would assume someone much smarter

Not if the truck was moving, HTx due to convection overpowers radiation easily.

Or a ton of OD green fins to act as a huge cylindrical heatsink. Drive the truck up and down the runway a bit, boom, cooler tank.

Also, the nets are radar-scattering. BONUS!

I agree it is wrong that Uber gets to walk away, but I think they will change their tune if enough governments take enough money from them that they will be forced to do the background checks.

Why not affix a heat exchanger to the fuel trucks inline with the filler hose? You know the fuel outlet temp, you know the required threshold, so you can easily size an exchanger to reject the required heat (plus a safety factor). Depending on the required ΔT, you might be able to get away with fuel-to-air exchanger,

The company didn't rape that woman, that morally bankrupt piece of shit driver did. There's nothing in the article about the response from Uber, only allegations that they didn't perform any background checks (which they probably didn't). The article also points out the that the NYT reported that the rapist had a

Another thought: use DARPA's guided bullet technology (http://www.darpa.mil/NewsEvents/Rel…), scale it up to 30mm, put them in an A-10 or or A-10 successor, reduce the burst duration, extend the range, then BOOM. CAS can stay in the air for a hell of a lot longer.
