There are tons of composites places in WA that supply Boeing. Glad to see them branch into other markets.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force; as if dozens of fanboys suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

PHRASING. Oh, are we not doing phrasing anymore?

No kidding. In the world of aerospace manufacturing, if a plane falls out of the sky for mechanical reasons, I pray that it wasn't something that I touched that failed.

I dunno, I've seen one or two blue waffly vaginas in my day.

Ah. It was my understanding that only the MTs got the viscous coupling center diffs (since ever?), while the 4/5EATs got hydraulically-actuated, electronically-controlled clutch packs with something like 45/55 front/rear torque split under normal conditions. I didn't see in the article that the new Outback was totally

Bring back the Legacy wagon. While they're at it, put the FA2.0DIT in there and call it the GT. And while they're at that, put in the WRX 6MT.

Symmetrical and "Electronic" are not mutually exclusive. One can have a symmetrical AWD system that is either mechanical or electrical (or combination of the two). One can also have an electronic AWD system that is either symmetrical or asymmetrical. Symmetry is based on orientation of the centerlines of the engine,

Mine too! Atlantic Blue Pearl ftw

My 05 LGT wagon (5MT) just got 27mpg from Spokane to Seattle, going mostly 65mph. Yes, I was that turd who sat in the slow lane behind a semi the whole way to see how good I could get my mpg.

If they could find the right wheels, you might be able to fit portal boxes on the KL for some bonus lift. I know some folks have done it on Suzuki SX4s with independent front/rear.

Portal axles FTW!

That looks like an F-15.

I can only imagine the expense of these shafts. I deal with long, gun-drilled drive shafts for aerospace parts and they are aren't even that precise in terms of machining/geometric tolerances, and they certainly aren't balanced since they rotate relatively slowly.

Plus, you get to launch torpedoes!

Gah! You were even driving with him in the very car I mentioned the other day:

Beware; it may say 6MT for the WRX but it will probably not be THE 6MT from the STi. I have driven the lesser 6MT as found in the now cancelled Legacy 2.5GT, and found currently in the N/A Outback. It shifts like garbage, and feels like you are churning the selector lever in a jar of lukewarm honey.

Did anyone else think of Radiohead's album cover for The Bends when they saw her first pic in the thread?

Really Jalopnik, we're joking about 9/11? Get some class.

Because they are too lazy to figure it out, or are not willing to learn how.
