Lol - back to urban dictionary to connect the dots are we?
Lol - back to urban dictionary to connect the dots are we?
Hahahahaha.
That argument goes right out the window when the previous sentence was calling out someone for misspelling something. If you’re going to be a spelling/grammar nazi, the rest of your post better be on point.
And yet their adoption into the lexicon is still documented and vetted by authorities qualified and dedicated to correctly cataloging that the claims about their use are accurate. Beaucoup has a documented history of use. Buku does not and urbandictionary doesn’t fucking count because I could go on there right now…
using urbandictionary.com as a reference.
Holy shit, the Sorbonne? What movie are we in? All anyone is saying is that if you can’t bring a source that backs up that (wrong) spelling other than urban dictionary, you’re always and forever wrong.
“buku” is a transliteration of how white people think asian people sound when they speak French. it’s racist. it doesn’t reflect a genuine creole, like Haitian Kreyol, or South Pacific Pidgin.
Dude, stop.
I’m fine with that.
beaucoup is in actual real dictionaries, you know... ones that don’t let random anonymous internet users make shit up unvetted.
Vietnam was a French colony, where people spoke French, so it’s “beaucoup”.
Don’t trust urbandictionary. There’s no vetting for submissions and no requirement to provide evidence of the use of spellings or definitions. It’s often used as a way for tiny groups to fool people into thinking an in-joke is an actual thing.
Funny how he was so happy and cheery on Friday and over the weekend, hamming it up for his racist supporters and even saying he might run for the Senate. Now it’s all crashing down around him, like everything Trump touches.
It’s spelled “Tucson”. And criminal Arpaio was elected sheriff buku times
Not a lawyer, but from what I have heard from people who know more about the law than me, a pardon does not shield Arpaio from civil suits. Having his conviction thrown out would.
I think it’s a pretty shitty way to keep powerful people (like Arpaio, or Bush / Clinton’s own family members) from going to jail, although I support Obama’s decision to pardon minor drug offenders from insane prison sentences.
Right, my understanding is that accepting a pardon means admitting guilt. It’s a literal get out of jail free card, but you’ve still been convicted of the crime.
Regardless of the other issues of the case, a pardon is not an exoneration and has no bearing on the previous conviction of Arpaio. All it does is prevent Arpaio from serving the jail time or fines from the offense.
I have heard the argument that the POTUS can not pardon a contempt of court ruling because it violates the balance of powers. Leave it to Pumpkin-spice Mussolini to create a constitutional crisis on Friday night to boost ratings.
