@Dan Del Rio: From my understanding of GV, when you make a call, you connect to Google's server, which then calls whoever you are calling, so yes, you do use your minutes, but all of your calls are between you and Google, essentially, and anyone who calls only sees your GV number.
@ishigakisensei: not completely, but you can make it extremely difficult for people trying to track you by using a vpn or a proxy server (and heavy levels of encryption)

@Jergos: I don't think so, I mean 4chan isn't a site completely full of mind scarring images, they are just there, along with lots of other perfectly fine images. To me it looks like these guys have to look at flagged or marked images, so its like looking at 4chan's worst 18+ images all day.

I'm not so sure about that right now, sure, Google could eventually be replaced by some other company, but with what they are doing now, and their ability to adapt in the environment, makes me think they will be around for quite awhile, unless of course some major catastrophe takes them out.
