Your graduate thesis should compare the price of a fast food meal (5-9 bucks for a hamburger, fries and drink depending on the region) versus a meal of rice, beans and frozen vegetables. Comparing the price of a single hamburger (one component of a meal) versus the price of a better balanced meal with all components

Some of us bike or walk to work and spend our commuting time exercising. And we don't even have to kill the planet with cars in the process!

That's funny, because I can bike to Whole Foods for bulk lentils between school and my job and go home to my shared housing situation and enjoy the fact that I didn't have kids when I couldn't afford them.

In this case, nearly everyone can buy lentils, onions, kale and rice on a very limited budget. And that's kinda the point of this article.

I'd challenge anyone to explain why having a family of four is a good economic and environmental decision. It sounds preposterous to many of us.

What's wrong with people wanting to have frequent and casual sex? Nothing to do with feminism.

You've missed the point entirely, and clearly missed the several instance where I've stated the exact opposite of your assertion about blame.

Just posted several studies. A simple search for testosterone + aggresssion (and/or violence) gives pages of hits that report a strong correlation. There are many studies that warn about blaming testosterone for increased violence, and this is totally true. It is but one of many causes, but it's an important one.

Well, I think that my relative who is on the medical board of an ivy league uni might disagree with you there.

Totally and completely (re stated preferences on sites).

Increased testosterone is widely known to increase violent tendencies. That's like saying that there's calcium in milk.

I'm clearly not stating that men (and women) of all shapes and sizes are not capable and culpable of rape.

Privilege has zero to do with this. You don't know me, my stated gender, my background, or my experiences, and I'd like to be treated with a bit more respect, please.

Well, this is an online conversation about this topic, and it's a bit unrealistic to ask someone to cite their assertions. I'm certainly not presenting any findings that are obscure regarding testosterone's association with violence and certain physical traits - they're everywhere.

I'm sorry that I've not been clear. What I'm trying to say is: when choosing to go on a site where casual sex is a commonly sought behavior, it is important to understand that there will be some people who use that site for this purpose, and will therefore be blunt and explicit about their desires.

And I just think that the structure of these sites prioritizes pictures, and therefore encourages people to not read profiles. It sucks!

Biologically speaking, men who are tall, muscular and square-jawed have an abnormal amount of testosterone. This has definitively been strongly correlated with increased propensity for violence and domineering behavior.

Countless studies show that women select men with physical traits that directly result in higher testosterone levels. Testosterone is well-proven to increase violence and dominant behavior, and social conditioning for these behaviors among 'alpha-males' tends to reinforce this behavior.

I would argue that these dangers are present for both men and women. Further, and as we all know, the vast majority of sexual assault and rape is perpetrated by someone we know.

I completely agree that men tend to select women that are perhaps more conventionally 'attractive' than themselves.
