@XRFlip05: Yah, those remotes are cheap approx $80 for $.60 in plastic/chips. This is totally against the argument of "expensive hard drives".

@LokeSTL: USB drives are slot powered, so one with its own power should work too. However, MSFT limits the USB drive to 16GB as to make buying a HDD a viable option.
