it might be that she’s using Block Together (https://blocktogether.org/)... it’s a really good tool to block trolling accounts, but depending on how you configured it, non-troll civilized people get blocked as well...

my experience: on the first Hulu months, almost every ad had a clickable text on the top right of the screen to the effect of either “do you like this ad?: y/n” or “do you want to swap this ad?” and then 3 options...
