Did anyone ever tell Kanye he couldn’t have another child or vote or get married? Was he forced against his will to tour and make albums? Was separating him from his kids ever considered? Was he put on an allowance?

They were also fathers when they were most unhinged. A fact that we need to point out more, especially when people want to make that a supporting factor in why she *needed* this conservatorship. There is so much bad faith fuckery here and it’s all completely legal. 😬🙄😒

I will never understand how the judge who approved the conservatorship, Reva Goetz, came to the conclusion that Jamie Spears would be an appropriate conservator for his daughter. In The New York Times article about the case, it was clear that the man barely had his own life together and was definitely not a good

But I think the point was she was responding to the circumstances she was in, not that she was mentally ill, which is the narrative her handlers preferred.

The press pushed Christina as the “voice”, the girl with the “talent” and singing chops who was a rebel. Meanwhile, Britney was pushed as the “production”, without a great voice who could be the face of a production team that determined what the next big hit would be. Initially she was the sexy girl next door that can

I wonder if Kim’s housewares are all concrete and off white like her hideous home or was that Kanye’s influence?

I am Caftans & Cocktails and I wholeheartedly approve. I suggest you thrift your caftans. I have quite an amazing collection of them I have scored at Savers and Goodwills. Combine with a pair of wedge sandals, a cocktail in a whiskey tumbler, and a pair of oversized sunglasses, and take a walk about the grounds (or

Okay, this thread might be dead at this point, but I have to historicize, because it’s what I do ;-). I agree— “Fat Bastard” couldn’t fly now, and shouldn’t. “Fat Monica” was a horribly misogynist as well as fatphobic characterization. But “fat” as comedy has historical roots that I still think make sense—place “fat”

That would be such a bizarre choice unless they’re scheming to close the site. Comments generate a ton of extra traffic as people return multiple times to the same article when there’s an active discussion in the reply section. When there’s not, there’s no reason to go back. I would think they’re leaving a ton of

I read that last night....and you described it perfectly. She’s trying to get in all this horrible stuff - and it’s probably not even all of it - in a very short amount of time.

Welp, when I’m wrong I’m wrong. I looked at a lot of the #FreeBritney stuff as conspiracy dorks talking about a private medical issue out of turn, but it turns out most of these people were pretty right on.

Now playing

I saw the link for the audio of her testimony on Twitter and listened to it before reading the transcript. As a casual fan who follows her on Instagram, I’ve often wondered how medicated she is, because she seems so...disconnected whenever she posts a video. She talks so fast, with a high voice, and just seems so off.

Honestly, the fact that they would prevent an almost 40-year-old woman from removing her IUD is maybe what I found most upsetting. Her father should not have the right to decide whether or not she has another baby, and the fact that she is pleading for her freedom while she is up against the biological clock on this

of course she’s rambling- she has 20 minutes to prove that she deserves to exist. I know I seem like a Britney die hard, but I’m not even a fan. She deserves a chance to exist as a regular human being.

Like Kanye West? That deep end?

I said it before that Jamie Spears is a predator and the rest of the family was in on it, and people on here were whining about how I didn’t know the whole story. Well, the whole story is out, and dude is even worse than I thought. This nonsense needs to end now.

It’s like an episode The Handmaid’s Tale. They would never rob a man of his bodily control over a pretty pedestrian breakdown (I challenge you to find a parent who hasn’t had one at least once) and a treatable mental illness. This situation is sick.

Thank you, I can’t stand the smugness which is so dense you can smell it off of an internet comment when someone says, “Besides food deserts and medical conditions, fat is a choice.” There is so much arrogance fed FAT on ignorance in this type of smugness it’s hardly bearable, almost nearly as insufferable as 5

I agree with you about certain actors depicting a person’s life and using prosthetics and costuming.

60% of Americans have underlying or chronic mental or physical health disorders; that’s the majority of people. So except for medical conditions, medications, food deserts, lack of transportation, cost and access to healthy food, access to education about food consumption, time and cost of daily food preparation, time
