Yeah, me too. Same on all counts. Seeing the clothes on someone with a similar build was just so great. But the few pieces of apparel I bought have been disappointing. Maybe I’m outside of their target age.

Yep.

Mea culpa. I’d read a couple of links about it that were content light and didn’t identify her. Will do better in future.

Me too! Always with the very sudden barking. I try to just roll with it.

Yep. This is exactly what Jim Jones sounded like.

There’s your come in from the ledge slogan for 2017.

Right? I came here to say this.

WHERE’S THE BOY, STRING?

Yes. Good times!

Lassie.

I’m replying to you again! The social media aspect is HUGE. Again with my org - we got accused of being anti-mom and anti-child because we couldn’t logistically accommodate one woman’s needs - not breastfeeding, fyi, a very small thing that just was out of our purview (but I don’t want to dox myself with too many

Yes, yes, and yes. I do think there is a lot of that going on in these situations. I mean, as an organizer and someone with veto power, I’ve had to check my own motivations in saying no or yes to certain things. Do I like the power? Do I want this event to be tailored to my wants? I believe I’m able to be honest with

Yes.

You’re not wrong. I hear you, I do. I know some Boomers who are pretty awful and can’t see outside their own experiences, either.

You’re pretty awesome, and good for you for getting help like that. I’ve been dealing with the trauma of childhood abuse for about a year, and it’s been rough dealing with certain crap that reminds me of my abuser. Triggers, I guess. There’s a lot on social media right now that is so upsetting.

The thing is, teens should grow out of it. But I work with women in their late 20s on into their 30s, and they behave the same way.

Oh my god, I love you, fellow Gen-Xer.

I mentioned this in another comment, but I’m part of a women’s group and I’ve been fighting about trigger warnings for a year now. It’s exhausting. How can I know that popcorn triggers you? HOW CAN I KNOW THIS?

I run a women’s retreat, and the safe space talk and the stuff that could potentially offend our attendees so we don’t dare let it happen is just numbing.

I just watched some women - feminists? - yelling on Twitter about how Charlotte Bronte isn’t feminist enough. Reading Jane Eyre makes you reactionary or something.

Oh my god, yes.
