From what I understand about television production, it wasn’t exactly their choice how much money or how many episodes they got. I’m guessing HBO had to balance cost vs. benefit and the time they were given is what they settled on as the absolute minimum amount of time to rush through whatever story was left. It’s a

We were hearing Pikachu talk with Ryan Reynold’s voice, but for Tim he was just absorbing Pikachu’s thoughts directly via telepathy, he didn’t actually hear any voice.

I have a feeling that Det. Pikachu and Mr. Goodman only had the same voice to us, the viewers.

My only issue with the film, and you saw this coming a mile away, is how did Tim not recognize his Dad’s voice coming out of Detective Pikachu? Even if he hadn’t seen his father for years, he would still remember the sound of his voice, the cadence and timber of it.

Detective Pikachu, or, The Assassination of Mr. Mime By The Coward Tim Goodman

...I feel little more than exasperation over the deaths of so many characters I’ve grown to know and love over the past decade...

I think the thing that stood out to me after the episode was Daenerys breaking was avoidable. All she needed was some empathy from those who remained close to her the night before.

The very last scene of the very last episode needs to have the camera pan out and we see it was all just a MMORPG someone is playing on their computer.  Then it pans out further and we see it’s BOB NEWHART playing it.

It’s quite a feat for D&D to lose so much goodwill in so short a time that I feel little more than exasperation over the deaths of so many characters I’ve grown to know and love over the past decade. Not even that I’m necessarily let down by how they met their end, but why oh why did they rush this ending?

I mean, this isn’t much different than all the other rules that cast members enforce. If there’s anyone who is skilled at firmly - but politely - enforcing rules on a bunch of entitled parents, it’s Disney park castmembers.

(Though I’d give WDW cast members more credit because it’s Florida and dear God the crap they

It isn’t quite 10AM on a weekday, schools aren’t out yet, and the wait time for Flights of Passage is 3 hours.

Disney is actually really good as de-escalating drunks. They do it all the time in WDW.

“when your time’s up, cast members simply won’t allow you to buy anything or ride any of the attractions if your wristband has expired“

It’s done really well and with clear love for the material. I sort of wish they’d graded the new footage to match the 1977 film stock, even if it meant less clarity, so the whole thing could feel within that world.

So to borrow a phrase from Mr. Plinkett, “they made it more bigger and more better-er”?

Marvel smartly started using different genres, which helped movies like Captain America and Thor, before the formula got stale. So I give some credence to the over-saturation theory. These Star Wars films are all basically the same. Even the one lauded/lambasted for going against type - The Last Jedi - ultimately

I for one am stoked for a couple of years to let Sabine Wren, Cassian Andor, Doctor Aphra, The Mandalorian, and whichever other peripheral characters take center stage for a few years.

Meghan McCain is the posted child for the uber-privileged.

Sir, how dare you question my credentials, sir!
