I like to think that Yaddle tried making a move on Yoda in an attempt to save their dwindling species.  Yoda, of course, spurned her advances, thus dooming their species entirely.  Yaddle died of a broken heart (it’s kind of a thing in this galaxy, look it up re: ROTS), Yoda lived on and became the last of his species.
