Not only does this read like bullshit, at the first sign of trouble they should've sent out courtesy emails and snail mail to the customers that have their information entered. It's crucial that people find out about this ASAP, not after Sony has confirmed it.

Website becoming more app like instead of staying websites. For 99% of websites, becoming more like an app is a bad thing. Coincidentally Gawker sites are the perfect example of everything that is wrong with this.
