@Kirkaiya: I was talking to one of my professors this spring about ITER, and while he was initially hesistant to give opinions on it — most of his research deals with top quarks and their relationship with the Higgs boson, not fusion — he did mention a few interesting things about ITER:

@Einbrecher: They're not cost-ineffective. They may be more expensive than fossil fuels at the moment, but the fuel source (wind power and solar radiation) is free. The only cost is the overhead involved and manufacturing and installing the devices, and then it pays itself over a period of a few years.

@md5sum: Maybe I seemed a little swift-handed with his choice of design, but this isn't exactly Tesla pioneering the field of electromagnetism. Fusion reactors and the magnetic confinement method have been around since the 1940s. Suppes is just recreating another one of those designs.

@Scooby Dooby Doo: Yep, I should've added in fission reactors in there when I had the chance. That's probably our best bet for the future.

@sleeping143: Way to put words in my mouth. Text box. Whatever.

I'm all for home science experiments and expanding one's knowledge, but the tokamak and Polywell designs have been shown not to be effective sources of power. The magnetic confinement reactor is just too finicky to confine the plasma well.

@blipflip: When teenagers are also building fusion reactors, it's not some huge brilliant entrance into the age of easy power:

After the musical act, everyone crowded to see what ChatRoulette was up to that evening.

@Matt0505: You! Test Subject Gamma Plural Delta 546! How'd you leave the brainwashing holding facility? We haven't even infused your hatred of open source software yet!

@toxic: It certainly doesn't look like Jesus Diaz, unless Apple and its magical powers vanished out roughly 40 pounds. And subtracted 10 years. And gave him an... Indian heritage?

I found my iOS4 update in a bar a few months ago, so I'm already set.

Oh hey guys!

@Cody Reynolds: As someone who's taken their materials course in undergrad, I can safely say that I know what you're talking about and I hate it.

@HiddenCommenter: Don't forget about not being saddled down with iTunes.

During my time as a student worker in the metal shop at my uni, I can attest to this being fun to watch.

This about sums it up for me.

@mattycakes::::::::::: Oh, and I think I read somewhere that the old hard drives won't be compatible with the new hard drives. Is that right? Would there be any way to port my old profile and saved games over?

Help!
