Adrian, there seems to be quite a few people who didn't understand the article so allow me to summarize it.

I never said you commented on whether this is a good use of someones time or not. Maybe you are the one who needs to reread my post.

You must be extremely dense. If a person decides to play a game for 140+ hours then that is their choice. Is there more fiscally productive uses of that time? Yes. However, that in no way has any bearing on what cofn42 is talking about.

I thought this was going to be like that shrinking lamp that doesn't actually shrink. Good to know Giz did their research (actually read the article) this time.

What exactly does that have to do with cost? Seems like your comment touches more on space. Pure SSD storage is more expensive than HDD storage. A hybrid drive would theoretically fit somewhere in the middle. This would make the MBA cheaper, assuming Apple found a way to make it fit.

Epic fail. I am laughing my ass off right now.

Yes... Moron indeed...

I think you're just jealous.

I didn't know so I educated myself as much as you can in 15 minutes of Google searches. From my understanding, economic hardship includes a whole multitude of things which again, expands your argument away to include far more factors than just Apple and Foxconn.

They only posted it because it is related to a hot/popular subject. That fact doesn't make their intentions more pure; it makes them even more tainted.

That is how I used to feel, but I got to the point where my iPhone became uncomfortable to read articles for long periods of time. I would also like to use it for work and school where I don't need the power of a laptop and just want something to take notes on, read, etc.

I am biased in that I am already invested in iOS and Apple's ecosystem. I assure you, that would not prevent me from taking advantage of other products given they actually contain something of use to me.

I didn't read any specifications until a couple days ago. You can call it what you want, but it was ignorance on my part.

I really don't see any exclusive benefits. At least, none that make me go, "omg, i need that!"

It might be. It might not be. Apple didn't create the first tablet, but it was the first company to do it right. That is what people will notice. That is what people care about. Not who did it first, but who did it right. That is how I feel at least.

I feel like they are already moving more towards redefining what a laptop even is. Just look at how thin the new MacBook Pros are and how much power they pack.

I think I would rather spend the extra money for a Mini than an iPad 2. Like you mentioned, it is easier to lug around all day given the size. Maybe I will wait for the next version/refresh.

So you can't take advantage of the book loaner library on an iPad?

Truth.
