I love that they chose the most old-timey looking modern car they could find, to go with the 30s costume.
it’s just how they are - every animal is a cartoon and there’s some nicely done background stuff with people carrying cartoon dogs in their arms, etc.
It’s the same as any other film with CGI animals, just in a more traditionally cartoony style. It’s not explained which I agree with personally; it’s one of the few genuinely good qualities in the film.
