I always just use Spotlight to find the prefpanes- just hit Cmd-Space then type the name of the pane you want (or system preferences in general).

@morphoyle: Anyone who cares about little details like that has already read the corresponding entries and/or doesn't need Mr. Loftus to use a nigh-unrelated commercial to tabulate them.

@MazdaMania: what does "stupid and in need of hand-holding" have to do with "doesn't care about if the buttons have a different spacing"?

I'm not very knowledgeable about communications law, but what removes-from/fails-to-give the FCC the right to regulate aspects of a communication trunk that the government paid for and heavily subsidizes? What gives ISPs the right to determine what content we access on a publicly-funded network? I know they control

I want a mac version of just the calendar, please.

@Arbron: An empty stomach on average is 45ml, and will typically comfortably stretch to about 1L (all numbers are of course averages). However, it can and will stretch if you fill it too much. Doing so repeatedly will increase the stomach's maximum "comfortable" point. It is not linked to obesity except by the

@linkgx1: iOS is a derivation of OS X. It shares the same kernel, and uses much of the same frameworks. Some APIs are modified to cater to a touchscreen UI and hardware limitations.

@OMG! Bacon!: Most good things are sound illegal?

@linkgx1: So wait, you want a 6yo operating system that had virtually no support for finger-based input, has already been recobbled once before, few developers are actively maintaining binaries against, and has an older kernel then the current version of iOS?

@Norbs: supposed hate aside, he has a point; I'd love to be able to hotswap PDFs and other docs over to my iPad and take written notes, then push them back.

@battra92: Yeah, I use spotlight almost exclusively when opening apps without documents. The only icons I keep on my dock are those that I use often enough to want their position to remain constant.- safari, text editor, PDF, productivity, and iTunes.

@Sublethalend: Ha that sounds very much like my introduction to Apple, except I bought a macbook for my mom. I've owned a MBP myself for 4 years now. Best computer I've ever had.

@Arbron: your stomach can stretch to a degree, and people who overconsume stretch their stomachs out more and more over time. Imagine yourself drinking a 2-liter bottle of soda straight. Even after you belch out the carbonation, does that feel comfortable to you?

@mrm: And the romans before them...

@melissa130: I had this same thought, although I'm not sure that will be the case with frappuccinos. The taste would noticeably change, unlike with iced drinks. That said, they may put more of their drink mix in than coffee, resulting in many more calories.

@C3PA: Actually, in my family, that probably won't be too far from the truth. My mom and sister have almost identical tastes, and ordering one trenta to share would be better than two ventis or two grandes.

@theimmc: even if it's for "worse", that doesn't necessarily mean "not fine" or "bad". It's a good company with lots of talent. Jobs has done an amazing job at the helm, but you gotta imagine he's filling his company with people of similar vision. They might not come out with a few of the innovations Jobs might have,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a property of either irrational or transcendental numbers that there are no patterns in said number? We know that pi is provably irrational and transcendental, so if my assertion is correct, there is provably no pattern to pi, and we just like calculating further digits of pi for

@AreWeThereYeti: It takes a lot of time to sort and analyze 15,000 artifacts of various size, makeup, and disrepair. This is, of course, on top of the time it took to properly preserve all artifacts upon retrieval, to make sure none of them disintegrated while others were analyzed.

@sdn: what RighteousDork said. Furthermore, budgets in Mint have an option to let you carry over budget balances (similar to YNAB) from month to month, preventing the odd behavior your mentioned.
