I think a quick AutoTrader search tells the story of reliability. There are more Elements for sale over 200,000 miles than there are under 100,000.
5th Gear: In 2004 I worked at a Toyota Dealer in SC, 2004 was also the same year as hurricane Charlie. All the sales staff was told we were expected to be at work that day or we would be fired. There was a tornado about a 1/4 mile down the street, did we get to leave? Nope, we just all sheltered in the oil change pits.
Too soon... no star for you.
CP: The Craigslist ad reads like a “Buy-here, Pay-here” dealer... and the price is about $6,000 too high for that old Caddy.
It’s a big corporation. There’s just no incentive for doing it maliciously.
Repeat after me: “Personal mods don’t add value!” This is a beautiful $5000 VW but at $10K it’s a solid CP.

I’m a current Volt owner (2013 Premium) and I love the ELR. However, with a little sleuthing you can usually find an ELR for closer to $20K. With only 2 doors and a useless cargo space (back seats don’t fold down, and unlike the Volt, the ELR is not a hatchback) I would be hard pressed to spend that much money on a…
