Yeah but they also dropped an SUV onto a Smart car as part of their marketing campaign to prove that the Smart car was safe as well, so it’s not really saying much, other than current day materials engineering is pretty good.

The fact that there would have been some extreme injuries for someone driving an Accord is pretty much in line with the statement of “SUVs/trucks are too big.”
Those statistics leave out the fact that there are now more SUVs on the road than sedans. More SUVs/trucks mean that sedans are more likely to be in an accident with an SUV/truck. Getting t-boned by a 5,500lb SUV going 50 through an intersection is more likely to end badly for the mid-size sedan it plows into.
Doesn’t…
The fact that they weren’t injured has nothing to do with them being in an SUV, and everything to do with cars being more safe now. Doesn’t mean that there isn’t a greater chance of death from a roll over accident.
It’s not remotely anecdotal. Multiple studies have shown that SUVs are more likely to flip, due to their height, and that you are more likely to die in a roll over accident.
Further proof SUVs/trucks are simply too big. They’re extremely rollover-prone, and will flip over in accidents that a normal sedan would stay firmly planted.
You are the ONLY person I’ve ever heard say that. Of course liking tv shows and movies is subjective and all, and not everyone will like everything... but like... I want to yell at you and tell your that you’re wrong so much.
They can’t all be winners!
this is a quality joke
I’d rather get into an accident with a 25 year old Kei car than I would with a 1970s rusted turd F150 that’s held together with bondo and hope, of which I see dozens on the road. Daily.
While I appreciate you chiming in, the (biologically) Mexican woman at the office specifically asked to be referred to as Latinx, as they are non-gender conforming.
That’s so awesome. I work in IT, which is an extremely white male dominated field. The department I’m in now is almost 50% women, and we’ve got a bunch of minorities as well. It’s the single most diverse IT team I’ve ever had. We’re only 12 people, and the manager of the department is a woman, the manager of the field…
I work in an extremely male dominated field (IT), and absolutely every job, save for the one I have now, has been utterly dominated by men in that department. Even the some of the companies I worked for were extremely male dominated. Some of which were very much a “good ole boys club” kind of vibe (which to be clear,…
I honestly don’t even hate the idea of the story. I hate the execution of the story. If they’d been able to weave the narrative of a rogue Chief being hunted, and Cortana taking control of the Guardians into a coherent story, it probably could have been good.
Was hoping someone would make an Earth-2 reference, but I’ll take this.
Hunt The Truth, and Keegan-Michael Key were the absolute best parts of the Halo 5 story, and they weren’t even remotely involved in the story when it released.
Your mistake is in assuming that this world will be around long enough for us to develop cars sophisticated enough as to not need humans.
I’ve never really been a fan of Porsche until the last few years, and I’m not really an EV fan either.
My GF and I get a few small, thoughtful gifts, usually averaging like $80-$100. I think we’re getting to the point where we’re just going to stop buying presents for each other.
Internet connection is a massive roadblock. When you’ve got to compile files that are 100+GB in size, upload them to a server from your house, and then have someone else download them at their house, if you don’t have a 500+MB connection, that can take a loooooooong time. Meanwhile if you’re on site, you can just…
