The German brands have been doing this since the days of the 6.3 you make reference to, as it was the 300 SEL 6.3 and at the same time they had a 280 SEL with either a 3.5 or 4.5 option.

Driven as you would in FM4, Horizon doesn't feel much different. The Viper and Evo aren't difficult to drive in FM4, either.

I miss this show, I don't think it runs in the UK at the moment.

Look at any era of car design and it is largely in detail where they have had differences. The truly odd, such as the Fiat Multipla or Hyundai Veloster aren't going to be copied as they are too different to become the accepted style for that type of vehicle.
