If anything, this last year has only proven that self-driving cars won’t be viable on a massive scale for decades.

How do I know you are a real writer?
To a certain extent, I fully understand his desire for good estate planning and not wanting his grandkids and great-grandkids to be lazy trust-fund moochers blowing their inheritance on Lamborghinis, hookers, and voting Democrat. That’s natural.
You think it pisses people off to know you spent $55 dollars for something worth 2 bucks and that warns them you’re trash?
Apparently smog was what made america great. Who could have known?
Fair take (I’m a lawyer). There is surely a small army of #MAGA lawyers out there who would love to do this and many of them have probably reached out offering their help.
This. The fact that these are the “most annoying quirks” I think speaks to the quality of the phone overall. These are pretty minor.
You forget one thing. The greatest power limiting the strength of the US military is the US military. Meaning that we (basically) limit the number and types of war crimes we commit and we don’t engage every enemy with full force. Sometimes for diplomatic reasons, sometimes to avoid pissing off other countries we don’t…
The article is about racist blacks - something that doesn’t fit the narrative on Gizmoto... I’m surprised it was mentioned at all.
There’s a big difference between blame and your personal responsibility for your safety. Blame won’t keep you safe, only you can do that. This driver is partially responsible for putting himself in an unsafe situation. Though really it is the auto pilot feature that is responsible in this case.
If he hit the car with the front of his vehicle, in most states he would be 50% at fault for not maintaining proper safe distance and speed in relation to surrounding traffic. He can also get a ticket for not avoiding a collision in some states when there’s ample room for avoidance, which is clear in his video.
I’m convinced Tesla drivers are the new Prius drivers, heads so far up their ass.
Most have no idea what defensive driving even is. Yes you are 1 million percent correct, he should have started slowing down and stepped at least one lane over waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back when everyone was slamming on their brakes. Plenty…
Ya, I don’t really care who’s fault it is from a technical standpoint. From a “keep yourself alive” standpoint, you should always assume the other person will do the dumb thing. Passing traffic that is abruptly slowing down puts you at the mercy of the other person.
The accelerating robot vehicle caused the dangerous situation, which was a massive speed differential. Then it failed to account for any consequences.
Agreed. Not his fault, but I would say he could be considered a “contributing factor” had the collision occurred. Proper defensive driving would have been to move over a lane. You NEVER blow past a stopped row of cars like that. At least not without your butt being puckered.
This dangerous situation is the driver’s fault, to begin with. He should have responded immediately to the drivers in the adjacent lane slowing so quickly. He was lucky to avoid her person changing lanes but it happened a long time after he should have been slowing down or changing lanes himself.
I’ve lived in NYC for decades and don’t really want to pile on negative comments about subway station repair shenanigans, but I do have a favorite story.
That you’re equating punching people who identify with the most hateful ideology ever conceived by humans with a post apocalyptic sci-fi movie makes me question your grip on reality.
As ubiquitous as Windows is, it’s fairly secure. Put a Mac in the hands of virtually every person with a desk job, half of the world’s servers, and even a lot of embedded devices, and we’ll see how it does.
