I have to say that this really wouldn't shock me considering the tablet overload that's going to happen this year. The release coming up soon will be more of an "iPad 1.5" to have something that's up to spec with the Xoom, TouchPad, etc, and then somewhere closer to the end of the year they will release an iPad with

Maybe we don't all NEED a full functioning laptop to satisfy our portable desirese? I don't want a full laptop....too cumbersome. And yes, even a Macbook Pro. I can't just sit on the couch and use a Macbook Pro, or a laptop, netbook, etc, and feel totally at ease with it. I can't lay in bed before I go to sleep and

The comments areas in the new site are so completely fracked. Can that be worked on please? Oh and yeah....obviously people should wait for the new iPhone. It's only a few months away.

So this is what I don't get. You know, if they want to price the 3G/Wi-Fi version at $800, fine. And even if they want to pull all this activation crap with the device, ok. I could live with it. But the ONLY way I could live with it is if there are other options of the tablet to buy, like the iPad. Why can't I buy a

The comments section is totally messed up after the site update. At least that's the way it seems to me.

*Honeycomb tablet.* Sorry about that.

The only hope I have remaining for this is that someone @ Motorola had something to do with the leaking of the ad, and they're gauging internet response to the price. Hopefully they consider the internet ass-kicking it's taking right now, and they act accordingly.

You can justify it all you want, the sales figures will say all that needs to be said. Apple could skip releasing an iPad 2 this year, and I guarantee you the iPad 1 would still outsell the Xoom at that price. The mainstream audience of tablets could not give a damn about everything you just typed. And when you've got

I don't think as many people are missing it as you're making it sound like, we're all just primarily aggravated at the dumb MSRP of the device. And think about it. If it was $700 for the device plus the forced 1 month $20 subscription of 3G, that puts the price at $720, which is essentially the price of a 32gb

Big time. The tablet that they clearly chose to go with as their "show piece" for their new operating system, and more people will mess around with it at Best Buy than they ever will in their homes, on the road, etc. The reaction is pretty obvious. "It's cool, but I can't pay that much." Motorola better get out in

I'm interested in reading the comments on this topic, but the comments section of the new site seems to be completely fracked.

Take a look at the comments.....most of us here are "tech dorks" and we're all pretty disappointed in this. If people in the comments section of a site like this are being turned off.....they're pretty much doomed. Cannot believe their stupidity.

Maybe if you would read the comments you would actually see that a huge amount of people who were interested in buying it are no longer of that line of thinking. I'm one of them. So give it a rest.

@nbergseng: Yeah, I would agree. Well put.

@ddhboy: True, but I think it was a lot easier to get away with in 1984 than it was 2011.

I'm not sure how much the millions upon millions of iDevice owners out there are going to like being conveyed as mindless zombies. That ad could backfire.

@mruler360: If it's like a lot of taped TV shows like this, you just show up. If you're in line quick enough, you get a seat.

@Mai Work: Well I will watch out for your comment whenever they announce a Wi-Fi only version that's right around the iPad price.

@Mai Work: Why are you assuming that there will only be one $800 version of this?

Their band name alone makes them awesome.
