@lucasway89: It's a fair point, and probably the main thing that makes me less than 100% certain I'm switching from iPad to Xoom.

@Michael Scrip: It's a feature that the iPad doesn't have, period. Not to mention the notification bar which the iPad also is sorely lacking in. The point is you need to go into apps to be able to do anything on an iPad, on the Xoom it would appear that from the desktop you're able to get a pretty good amount of…
@Michael Scrip: That would be because the iPad desktop serves no function at all other than to show you all the apps you need to use to do something. At least the 3.0 desktop is allowing you to quickly go to your desktop and check the weather, see what new emails you have, your upcoming calendar appointments, and…
Motorola needs to get out in front of all the conjecture on pricing/release date now and let people know what the plan is.
@Michael Reynaga: You have to consider that any pricing talked about with the Xoom so far has been versions with both 3G and Wi-Fi. A 32gb iPad with both of those is $729....so the Xoom pricing speculation really hasn't been different. A Wi-Fi only Xoom will surely be cheaper and I would have to say most likely…
@Who-really-cares: All that's really been said is something between 700 and 800 for the version they're talking about, which would pretty much fall in line with iPad pricing. The 3G/Wi-Fi 32gb iPad is $729, so you would have to think that the Xoom equivalent will be pretty much the same price.
If the Wi-Fi only 32gb Xoom falls in line with iPad pricing, I'll be switching from iPad to Xoom. Apple needs to bring sometime to the table in terms of software for the iPad 2 for me to consider otherwise.
@Kevin Halacy: Don't comment on what you don't understand.
That's nice and all, but I would much prefer ports of Little Big Planet 2 and Gran Turismo.
Is Instapaper better than Reeder? I have to say that Reeder is ok, but it irritates me that I always have to click on the "more" link to actually be able to reade the whole article. Isn't there just a way to read the entire article from within that first page?
@o-line: "I'm sorry sir we're going to have to cut your arms off"
@∞Gïmmï∞Mørgäikkøŋëŋ∞: While he looked the part of Superman, I thought he was not right at all as Clark Kent.
@arrrdawg: Read my 2nd response.
@Mundus6: I'm sure you probably could mod it and make it a cellphone......but I wouldn't use something that size as my device for making phone calls. Texting? Sure, I guess.
Well I was going to add insight until you said you're buying pre-built. Nothing to add other than how much of a rip-off it is.
@Limafoxtrot: Because I want the games too. I would think that would be assumed since we're talking about a gaming system.
@danyvatt: It would make whatever "other" device people have on them (a phone, an iPad, a laptop/netbook,) much less needed, that's for sure. And I really don't think I'm going very far "outside the box" at all on those app wishes, I mean those things seem pretty standard in a lot of devices these days. Hopefully…
Here's what it comes down to for me:
@usfslacker86: It's all opinion, clearly. And my response to "practically the definition of useless excess" is that it's ALL useless excess, is it not? Do we really "need" smartphones that do all of this stuff beyond texting and making calls? Do we "need" a laptop/netbook/iPad/etc with us at all times so we're…
@MayorBloomberg: Well if the PSP2 is more expensive than an iPad, then I won't buy it. That would make the decision for me pretty easy. I don't think I'd pay more than $350 for the PSP2
