997 didn't have the IMS bearing issues. I'm almost positive that was exclusive to the 996 and 1g boxster.

Disagree honestly. I like the California because it’s not completely pretentious. 99.9999% of Ferrari cars will cruise through Beverly Hills and Starbucks. The California doesn’t hide that. The 458 marketed as a track car that will see track use, however, is hilarious.
